What determines the effectiveness of fungal treatment?
Treat onychomycosis with folk remedies
- iodine;
- essential oils;
- tea tree oil;

iodine
- Recipe No. 1. For the first two weeks, treat nails with fucose solution twice a day. The deck is then lubricated with iodine for two weeks. Apply iodine with a cotton swab, touching it gently to the skin. To completely cure the fungus and eliminate the remaining symptoms of the disease, apply a 9% vinegar lotion to the nail plate for an additional 2 weeks. The general course of treatment is 6 weeks.
- Recipe No. 2. Add 15-20 drops of iodine to a bowl of hot water. Steam the skin on your feet and use tweezers to cut off the softened nails. Apply hydrogen peroxide to the skin and cover the affected area with an antibacterial bandage.
- Recipe No. 3. Apply 1 drop of iodine solution to the affected nail twice daily for 1-2 months. To prevent the spread of fungi, it is recommended to treat healthy nails with iodine tincture, but the dose is 1 drop every two days.
Propolis
- Buy 20% Alcohol Propolis Tincture at a pharmacy.
- Dip a cotton swab into the solution and apply it to the plate.
- Place a dry cotton swab on top and secure with a bandage or plaster.
- After a day, remove the dressing and use a nail file to remove the softened layer.
- Treat the affected area of the feet or hands with a propolis mixture until complete recovery.
therapeutic bath
- Prepare a bowl with five liters of hot water.
- Add 4 teaspoons of seltzer or salt to the water.
- Pour a cup of any antiseptic herbal decoction, you can add a few tablespoons of vinegar essence.
- Place your feet or hands in the basin and steam for 15-20 minutes.
- Then dry your feet thoroughly and trim the affected area.
vinegar bath
- Pour 250ml of apple cider vinegar or table vinegar into a bowl of water.
- Soak your feet in the solution and steam for 10-15 minutes.
- Dry your feet without rinsing.
- Use an antifungal ointment prescribed by your doctor.
- Repeat this process every 2 days until complete recovery.
Celandine
juice
- Pass the plants through a meat grinder.
- Squeeze the juice from the pulp.
- Repeat this process until approximately 200 ml of liquid has been collected.
- Mix celandine juice with 70% alcohol.
- Let it sit for at least 24 hours.
- Lubricate the affected area with the prepared tincture.
- It is best to perform this procedure after steaming.
- The course of treatment is 1 month.
Oil
- The plant stems are dried and kneaded by hand.
- Put the ingredients into a glass jar and pour in the oil so that it is 2-3 cm above the grass.
- Let the mixture sit at room temperature for about an hour, then place it in a cool, dark place for a week.
- After a while, add the same amount of oil to the jar as you did the first time.
- Apply the mixture to the affected area of the nail plate for 3-4 weeks.
garlic juice
- Pass the garlic through a press.
- Squeeze the juice from the pulp with cheesecloth.
- Mix the juice with water and pure medical alcohol in a 1-1-1 ratio.
- The resulting solution is applied to the affected nail plate twice daily until it is completely healed.
kombucha
- Remove the film from a small piece of kombucha.
- Grind the ingredients into a paste.
- Steam your feet beforehand. Apply the fresh mixture to fungal infected areas 3-4 times daily.
- Home treatment is recommended for 4-6 weeks.
birch tar
- Apply natural birch tar to feet that have been previously treated with tar soap and gently rub the skin of the feet.
- Try not to move or wear shoes for an hour and a half.
- When most of it is absorbed, put on thick socks.
- After 2-3 days, wash off the remaining mixture with soap and water.
- Repeat this process until the fungus is completely gone.
hydrogen peroxide
- Prepare a piece of cotton cloth. Steam your feet in a salt bath before treating them with antifungal medication.
- Then apply a cotton pad soaked in hydrogen peroxide solution to the affected area.
- Let it sit for 2-3 hours, then cut off the affected area of the nail with scissors and lubricate the clean plate with antiseptic ointment.
- It is best to repeat this process 2-3 times a day for 2-3 weeks.
sea salt and table salt
- Dissolve 1 tablespoon baking soda and an equal amount of salt in cold water. Soak your nails in the solution for 10 minutes. Then rinse with warm water, dry and apply antifungal medication.
- Make a concentrated solution using one cup of water and one tablespoon of salt. Wet a cotton pad and apply it to your nails for a few minutes. Then wash the affected area with water and baking soda. The course of treatment is 10 days.
Prevent onychomycosis
- If you have sweaty palms or feet, use an antibacterial spray or wipe your hands and feet regularly with a chlorhexidine solution. To consolidate the effect, it should also be used to treat shoes, socks, and gloves.
- Wear only comfortable shoes and avoid tight shoes and sneakers.
- Never use other people's personal belongings or hygiene products.
- Always wear shoes at the beach, in the bathroom or in the pool.
- Avoid getting manicures at beauty salons of dubious reputation, and don't apply varnish or other cosmetics to damaged nails.
